要旨/Abstract
The introduction of sunken gardens as a type of open space using the comprehensive design system is increasing. A sunken garden is a type of open space that is a semi-underground plaza classified as artificial ground. Its role is to alleviate restrictions on floor-area ratio and height, to improve accessibility and convenience to the surrounding environment, and to provide evacuation routes from the underground space in the event of a disaster, smoke exhaust, and other disaster prevention functions. In addition, it is mainly used as a third place in the city because of its excellent green space and design, and its ability to create a three-dimensional landscape effect by utilizing the difference in elevation. Most of the examples constructed in recent years have been directly connected to train stations, and they play an important role in creating a favorable landscape.
This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of sunken gardens in urban spaces after clarifying their definition, conducted psychological evaluation experiments using questionnaires and analysis using PLATEAU and GIS. As a result, the visual value of sunken gardens was clarified.
