要旨/Abstract
Changchun Yuan(暢春園) and its affiliated Xi Huayuan(西花園) were important historical components of the “Three Hills and Five Gardens”(三山五園) imperial garden complex in the western suburbs of Beijing. However, after more than a century of decline and nearly 20 years of urban construction since the late Qing Dynasty, except for the two temples gates, it has almost completely lost their historical feature, posing serious challenges to research and heritage protection. On the basis of systematic research on 35 first-hand graphic and textual historical materials spanning from the Kangxi reign to the 21st century in 6 categories, this article discusses the process and method of redrawing the restoration plan of Changchun Yuan and Xi Huayuan in the 42nd year of the Qianlong reign (1777), involving boundary, landscape, and architecture. It preliminarily reveals the huge scale and outstanding artistic level of this 86.77 hectare imperial palace.
