要旨/Abstract

In recent years, natural disasters related to climate change have become more frequent, and urban greenery is seen as an important mitigation measure. Urban green spaces are also expected to build local communities and improve amenity, and healthy plant growth is necessary to fulfil these functions. On the other hand, the management of green spaces is costly in terms of labour and money, and we believe that establishing clear indicators of the factors that affect healthy plant growth will be effective in reducing the labour required for management and promoting the uptake of green spaces. In this study, we aim to estimate the environmental factors that affect the healthy growth of plants, and we will examine monitoring items by measuring the temperature and moisture content of the surface soil as the plant growth environment, and by taking photographs at fixed points to observe the plant conditions. Currently, temperature and moisture sensors are installed in the soil around three types of plants outdoors, and a small camera is installed directly above the plants for continuous measurement. The camera images are used to calculate the percentage of plant cover using machine learning, and the relationship between changes in the plant coverage and the soil environment data from the sensors is being clarified. In the future, we will increase the number of measurement points measuring the same thing and aim to propose more accurate indicators by analysing more patterns.
